The project is located on a long, narrow strip of land partially occupied by a five‑story building, in the traditionally working‑class Belleville district of Paris. A significant piece of the neighborhood’s heritage and the site’s unifying building, it has been rehabilitated and its base hollowed out to allow passage.
This project aims to adapt, or rather, to make use of the stones available to put up a new building. It is a new building, in which various voices and functions (some already registered, others still to be constructed) intervene; it is not a reconstruction of the building in its original form.
The Patrimony is not a special type of project, it only needs an extra 20% of fees, as the framework is already there. It does not need «intensive care», it only needs other types of care, as each situation is a situation, which means a house. This is not a problem for political parties, as they all seem to say the same, from left to right wing: «To defend the Patrimony …, defend the Patrimony …». Nor it is a source for expenditure, a nuisance, an obstacle, because if it were, it surely would not be Patrimony. The Bernardas Convent
The 45 hectares of the site have an historical antecedent in the 19th‑century urbanisation of the left bank of the Rhône. Between the river and the dyke a potential biotope came to life, though it was never occupied for any significant period of time. It was placed under environmental protection in the 1990s, and a competition for the creation of a park was launched, which was won by Ilex. On the scale of the metropolis, this is the final link in a continuity of landscape that runs along the left bank of the Rhône.
ICHOT – Gate of Poznan was built in the very historical core of Poznan, Ostrów Tumski, where the Polish statehood and Polish Christianity have their origins. The very simple form of the building deprived of any needless ornaments on the one hand is built in respect to the historical background but on the other hand stands in striking contrast to it emphasizing modern times when it was erected.
Located in a residential quarter of low housing density, the house was designed according to the needs of customer use, who he requested: a family area, guest area, mainly for their children who do not reside permanently, and an area for private use. To achieve a smooth functioning project organization provides in these 3 areas can be used to each other independently.
The plot is located in the limit of a closed condominium, with a height difference of 8 meters at the back, which allows us to release the views to the east of the metropolitan area of Guadalajara. To take advantage of the location, the plan has a staggered configuration, making the space expand, as the visitor walks deeper into the house. A large window frames the horizon, yet preserving privacy due to the change in ground level.
